In May 2023, The City of Belleville provided $2.4 million to John Howard Society, on behalf of the Consortium, to develop the property at 1 Alhambra Square for exclusive use as an integrated care hub to serve people experiencing homelessness. In July 2023, title for the building was transferred to John Howard Society.

​The City of Belleville committed an additional $2M in funding to complete the needed renovations.
United Way Hastings & Prince Edward in partnership with the City of Belleville, launched the Mayors Challenge to raise the remaining needed funds. The Campaign wound up in Fall 2024.
Grant requests are also being submitted to other funders.
HART Hub application submitted in response to a provincial Call for Proposals. The proposed HART Hub includes operational funding for The Bridge hub.

Construction delayed due to unforeseen structural issues. Contingency plans for renovation and relocation of The Bridge hub are prepared.

Construction schedule revised, with Phase 1 completion anticipated in September 2025.
Phase 1 includes the full lower level of the building and all needed space to accommodate a move of all services (meals, showers, washroom, laundry, drop-in services, some programming space, etc.) currently offered at Bridge Street United Church to 1 Alhambra Square.
Phase 1 complete; The Bridge hub occupies the lower level of the building while Phase 2 construction is completed.

Phase 2 of the project includes the upper level which will accommodate clinical space for addictions & mental health treatment, rest area, staff workspaces, and space for other integrated programming.
